Picture quality
Redmi Fire TV is an affordable 32-inch smart television that offers a decent picture quality. It supports HD resolution and a 178-degree viewing angle, making it ideal for smaller spaces. It has a metal bezel-less design with a balanced aesthetic, and the stand is sturdy enough to hold up the screen. It also features Vivid Picture Engine technology for a more lifelike and immersive display. The TV can display high-dynamic-range (HDR) content and supports Dolby Vision. It's a good option for watching movies, as it provides a more realistic experience than SDR (standard dynamic range) video. Watching a variety of different kinds of content on the TV, including sports and HD or 720p movies, we found that it handled them fairly well. For example, watching The Blacklist at 4K resolution looks quite good, with a lot of detail when focused on the characters' faces.
Sound quality
Sound quality is a key feature of any TV, and the Redmi Fire TV has an excellent sound system for its budget price. The speakers have a lot of range, but they lean a little toward the treble to make for loud and clear audio. There are many sonic settings to play with, including Dolby Audio, DTS-HD, and DTS Virtual:X – all of which help improve the audio experience. The remote is also impressive for the money, with dedicated buttons for popular streaming services such as Netflix and iPlayer, as well as a voice-control button for Alexa.
Connectivity
The Redmi Fire TV comes with plenty of connectivity options. It has two HDMI ports, one of which is capable of 4K resolution, ARC (audio return channel), Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports. In terms of wireless connectivity, you have the option of connecting it to your home Wi-Fi network via Bluetooth 5.0. Alternatively, you can connect it to a mobile device and cast content through Apple AirPlay or Miracast. There is also an AV-in socket, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an RJ45 Ethernet port. The Redmi Fire TV also features inbuilt Alexa support, allowing you to control the TV with your voice. It's not uncommon for smart TV makers to bundle their minimalist remotes with a variety of devices, but the Redmi Fire TV is unique in that it is designed to work with Amazon's Fire TV operating system. This enables the remote to be better suited to the system and offers a few tweaks that improve the experience overall.
Price
The 32-inch Redmi Fire TV is a budget-friendly smart television. It offers a great display and a snappy software experience. Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi are best known for their Android-based televisions and the PatchWall user interface that helps set them apart from the competition. This strategy has worked well, and provides a bit of uniformity across the product range. It's also worth noting that the company recently launched a smart TV with Amazon's Fire TV OS, which features Alexa as the default voice assistant and extensive software integration for Prime Video in the user interface. The Redmi Smart Fire TV has a HD-Ready screen with Vivid Picture Engine technology and 20W speakers. It also comes with a remote called the 'Redmi Voice Remote with Alexa' that features quick launch buttons for popular streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
