As far as budget phones go, the POCO X5 offers quite a lot for its RM 1299 price tag. However, you need to be aware of the quirks and annoyances that come with this model. The main camera sensor on the Poco X5 isn't as big as it could be, and this means images are noticeably dark when taking them outdoors. Colours are also pretty muted compared to many of the other cameras we've seen in this price range.

Dual-SIM

Dual-SIM smartphones are a convenient way to make calls and use data plans across multiple networks. This is especially useful in regions where there are many competing wireless carriers. This is an Android-based smartphone that works with both physical and eSIM cards. This allows you to have separate numbers for personal and business use, or different lines for different countries. You can also switch between your default call, SMS and data card using the Settings app on a Dual-SIM smartphone. Some phones have a setting called Ask Always that will automatically select your default SIM for every call you receive.

Dual-Camera

The POCO X5 is a smartphone that offers a lot for the money. It's equipped with a dazzling 120Hz AMOLED display, fast charging technology and a 48Mp triple camera set-up. While the POCO X5 is an impressive mid-range phone, it does lack the value you'd expect from a high-end model. You'll have to look elsewhere if you want a top-tier gaming phone that offers decent performance and a great camera. The 108-megapixel main sensor snaps solid shots during daylight, but low light photography isn't quite up to scratch. The 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro cameras also suffer from a lack of sharpness, saturated colours, soft corners and poor dynamic range.

Powered by Snapdragon 695

If you're shopping for a new phone, there's a good chance that it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. They power devices from Samsung, OnePlus and many other companies. The Snapdragon 695 is a mid-range chip fabricated on a 6nm process, offering a CPU with two clusters of Kryo 660 cores. The first cluster is based on a Cortex-A77 design and delivers 2.2GHz clock speeds, while the second uses smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores for faster power efficiency. As you'd expect, the 695 is very powerful for a mid-range chip. It features a capable octa-core CPU and an Adreno 619 GPU, as well as 13MP triple camera support, 108MP single camera support and Wi-Fi connectivity.

5G

5G is the latest generation of wireless networks. It is set to deliver much faster connection speeds and lower latency. It uses a new radio frequency spectrum, known as mmWave. These wavelengths are a few millimeters long and are many times faster than the radio waves 4G currently uses. This technology is set to revolutionize mobile telecommunications and offer a range of benefits including holographic technologies, superfast broadband, smart factories, remote healthcare and driverless cars. It is also expected to allow cellular operators to ‘slice’ a physical network into virtual networks, offering different capacity depending on the use case and enabling better network management.

Fast Charging

Fast charging is a feature that can be found in many smartphones. It allows you to charge your device faster than standard charging speeds and also reduces the amount of time that it is connected to a power cable. Before we can talk about different types of fast charging, it's important to understand how batteries are charged. Batteries have certain voltage and current output limits that must be met before a battery can safely charge to full capacity. To avoid damaging your batteries, it is important to only use fully certified accessories and chargers. These will ensure that your smartphone is safe when charged with a fast charging technology.

Cameras

The X5 Pro features a quad-camera setup that includes a 48 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro lens, and a depth sensor. It also supports Night mode, Portrait mode, and other software-controlled features.Snaps taken in good lighting conditions look great and are well-detailed. Colors are not oversaturated or washed out as you might find on some other budget cameras.
